Sevika Sanghom (Women's Ministry)
The Mar Thoma Suvisesha Sevika Sanghom the women's wing, was inaugurated during the Maramon Convention in the year 1919, under the leadership of Abraham Mar Thoma Suffragan Metropolitan, who gave the Sanghom continued support and inspiration. Every women of the Mar Thoma Church above the age of 18 years is a member of the Sevika sanghom.
The Sevika Sangham is very active in our Parish. Bible study classes are conducted once in a month at each Prayer group under the leadership of the Vicar. Fasting prayers are conducted in the Church on Fridays. Members actively participated in the Centre/Diocese level meetings of the Sevika Sangham. Our representative also attended the Kendra Prathinidi Sabha meeting.
The Sevika Sangham supported the Parish in its entire programme. The Sevika Sangham set up the breakfast stall on the Harvest festival day. They extended active participation in the Good Friday arrangements.
Main Activities includes:
1. Visiting the Sick & bereaved.
2. Conducting competitions among members in Singing, Bible reading and Bible Quiz
3. Active participation in various functions of the Church like Harvest Festival
4. Quarterly meetings in association with the Bangalore Center Sevika Sanghom
