Message from Vicar - July 2010

Dear Friends in Christ,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
 

First of all I take this opportunity to thank our previous Vicar Rev. Shiby Varghese and his family for their blessed ministry during the last two years. Shiby Achen joined Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam for his higher studies. I wish him all success in his studies and praying to God to bless achen and family in their future ministry also. I took charge of the responsibilities as the Vicar of this parish in place of Rev. Shiby Varghese. I humbly request your prayers, support and fellowship.  Without the support of the members I cannot discharge my duties.  I need God’s grace to do His ministry. So I request you to remember me and my family in your prayers.
 

Let me introduce myself and my family. I am a native of Kumbazha in Pathanamthitta district. My wife is Mrs. Rosamma, a native of Karunagapally in Kollam district. We have two children. Son Roni Mathew and his wife Vidya are in U.K. Daughter Roni Mathew is with us here. She has completed B.B.A. from Madras Christian College. I was ordinate in 1980 as a priest. Then served at Payyanamon- Konni, Bokaro Steel City, Rajkot, Kulathupuzha, Florida – USA, Panavely – Kottarakara, Elampal – Punalur, Tambaram – Chennai, Vellore and now in Krishnarajapuram, Bangalore.
 

I am happy to share in the good news of the continued growth of our church. Our parish is steadily growing with the addition of many new members. It is a great joy for me to be part of such a growing parish and to see the members seeking spiritual growth and fellowship through our worship service and other parish activities. We all can rejoice and thank God for his blessings on our parish. While we receive God’s blessings through our parish, we have the obligation to give to the church for God’s work. Jesus taught us to sow bountifully to give lavishly and cheerfully. Our gift to the church is our expression of gratitude for God’s gift of love and salvation in Christ.
 

I assure you that I am ready to serve you honestly and sincerely. May the Lord help me to fulfill his ministry in this place according to the will of God.
 

Our challenge is to grow spiritually, our challenge is to serve and our challenge is to become faithful disciples who are growing God’s church together.
